Meet Malaika
Malaika is a proud graduate of Howard University and the Chicago-Kent College of Law. She is the mother of two college students and has spent most of her twenty-five year career serving the people of Detroit in various roles. Having served the citizens of Detroit as a Magistrate for more than four years, she has a deep and practical understanding of the real impact judicial decisions have on the lives of citizens. Sometimes those decisions are difficult and unpopular, but Malaika has proven her commitment to the rule of law while honoring and protecting the rights of the individuals who come before the court. She is known for the fair and balanced approach to the decisions she makes as a magistrate and has never been afraid to do what she believes is right.
